The presentation was made by Most Venerable Udahamulle Saranapala Nayaka Thero and Rev. Unapana Ariyadhamma Thero the Director General of the Arogya Foundation at the 7th Anniversary of the Foundation held on 19th May, 2013, at the Nalandaramaya Buddhist Temple, Pathiragoda, Maharagama, Si Lanka.
In response to the request made by the parents’ of the slow leaner Ms. D.T.S.Malsha Perera 14 years old, the Arogya Foundation for the Disabled in Sri Lanka financially assisted and donated books for the purpose of education.

Unapana Ariyadhamma Thero the Director General of the Arogya Foundation at the 7th Anniversary of the Foundation held on 19th May, 2013, at the Nalandaramaya Buddhist Temple, Pathiragoda, Maharagama, Si Lanka. The intention of the contribution of Rs: 10,000 by Ms. Lalani Pathirana was to transfer its merits to her Mother and the members of the family for wishing healthy life. Having placed that in mind the Foundation felt deem fit to re-donate this contribution to the ‘ Sri Lanka Buddhist Association for the Blind’ to partner in the process of transcribing the PIRUVANA POTH VAHANSE into BRAILLE for the first time in Sri Lanka benefitting Blind readers. This priceless contribution was handed over by the Director General Rev. Unapana Ariyadhamma Thero of the Foundation and the Guest of Honour Ven. Yushi Shimada of Japan at the 7th Anniversary of the Arogya Foundation for the Disabled in Sri Lanka held on the 19th May, 2013 to Mrs. Biso Menike Marasinghe the President of the Sri Lanka Buddhist Association for the Blind. This occasion was graced by the Most Ven. Udahamulla Saranapala Thero (The President), Mr. Hasanjith Kuruppuarachchi (Vice President), Dr. (Mrs.) K.A.L.Dilani (Secretary), Mr. Gamini Dahanayake (Treasurer), Mr. Upali Jayaratne (Asst. Secretary) of the Foundation and Mr. P.A.Gunawardana (Coordinating Secretary) of the Sri Lanka Buddhist Association for the Blind. Ven. Yushi Shimada (Sri Lanka International Buddhist Academy – SLBA) of Japan graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour at the 7 th Annual General Meeting held on 19th May, 2013 at the Nalandaramaya Buddhist Temple, Pathiragoda, Maharagama, Sri Lanka. A financial assistance of SLK Rs: 10,000 from Rev. Yushi Shimada of Japan for the implementation of the proposed project of Establishment of the health Centre for the sick monks and Disabled children in Sri Lanka was meritoriously accepted. He was appointed as a Patron of the Foundation in consideration of his unblemished record of participation and support so far extended. In appreciation of the services rendered to the Foundation he was felicitated ceremonially presenting a statue of Lord Buddha by Most Ven. Udahamulle Saranapale Nayake Thero the President of the Foundation. Among the gathering Rev. Unapana Ariyadhamma Thero the Director General of the Foundation was also present at this occasion. In response to a request made by the Arogya Foundation for the Disabled a cash donation of Rs: 10,000 was made to Ushani Thathsarani aged 7 years, residing at Sri Rathanapala Mawatha, Pathiragoda, Maharagama, receiving education at Lycium School at Nugegoda from Mr. Nishan Hasantha and Mrs. Lakshika Gunatillake (Jayasinghe). This donation along with schools books was made at the 7th Anniversary of the Arogya Foundation for the Disabled in Sri Lanka held on 19th May, 2013 at the Nalandaramaya, Pathiragoda, Maharagama with the participation of the Guests and Invitees. This occasion was graced by the Guest of Honour Ven. Yushi Shimada (Japan) and Rev. Unapana Ariyadhamma Thero Director General, Mr. Hasanjith Kuruppuarachchi Vice President Mr. Gamini Charles (Tony) Jayasinghe and Mrs. Kalyani Jayasinghe of the Foundation. The Officials Dr. (Mrs.) K.A.L.Dilani, MS. Gamini Dahanayake, Upali Jayaratne, P.A.Gunawardana, A.H. Nilantha Somasiri and Mrs. Ajantha Roshini also represented the Foundation. |
