In response to a request made by the Arogya Foundation for the Disabled a cash donation of Rs: 10,000 was made to Ushani Thathsarani aged 7 years, residing at Sri Rathanapala Mawatha, Pathiragoda, Maharagama, receiving education at Lycium School at Nugegoda from Mr. Nishan Hasantha and Mrs. Lakshika Gunatillake (Jayasinghe). This donation along with schools books was made at the 7th Anniversary of the Arogya Foundation for the Disabled in Sri Lanka held on 19th May, 2013 at the Nalandaramaya, Pathiragoda, Maharagama with the participation of the Guests and Invitees. This occasion was graced by the Guest of Honour Ven. Yushi Shimada (Japan) and Rev. Unapana Ariyadhamma Thero Director General, Mr. Hasanjith Kuruppuarachchi Vice President Mr. Gamini Charles (Tony) Jayasinghe and Mrs. Kalyani Jayasinghe of the Foundation. The Officials Dr. (Mrs.) K.A.L.Dilani, MS. Gamini Dahanayake, Upali Jayaratne, P.A.Gunawardana, A.H. Nilantha Somasiri and Mrs. Ajantha Roshini also represented the Foundation. The Foundation acknowledge with graceful thanks the presentation made in the form of an ordinary gift later realized to be a financial contribution of S $ 816 from the Most Venerable Master Da Shi in Taiwan. The mediator Mr. Stephen Chio too receives our grateful thanks. This donation is intended to be utilized for the purpose of the proposed project of establishment of the rehabilitation centre for the benefit of the disabled children in Sri Lanka. While thanking Master Da Shi for his commitment the Foundation wish a healthy life and success in every endeavour. Ven. Master Da Shi , Rev. The regular philanthropists Madam Sng Choon Eng, Mr. Goh Kim Hua and their friends of Kah Motor in Singapore have donated a valuable financial contribution of S $ 1000 to the ‘Arogya’ Foundation for the Disabled in Sri Lanka in respect of the ongoing activities for the benefit of Persons with Disabilities, during the recent visit of Rev. Unapana Ariyadhamma Thero the Director General of the Foundation to Singapore to obtain medical treatment.
The donation was handed over by Most Ven. K. Rathanananda Nayake Thero on behalf of the donors on the inspiration of the Most. Ven. Thalagala Sumanarathana Nayake Thero. The Foundation transfer its merits most profoundly to the donors with the Blessings of the Triple Gem! The kind donation of S$ 1470 from Mr. Stephen Chio in Singapore given for the benefit of disabled in Sri Lanka receives meritorious thanks. This financial contribution in- deed an encouragement for the implementation of our project for the establishment of a rehabilitation centre for the benefit of the children with disabilities. Seen in the photograph are the donor Mr. Stephen Chio with Rev. Unapana Ariyadhamma Thero the Director General who accepts the donation on behalf of the ‘Arogya’ Foundation. Being convinced with the services rendering by this Foundation Mr.Hsu Tung of Taiwan unhesitatingly has contributed a sum of US $ 1020 for the benefit of the people with disabilities in Sri Lanka. We intend to use this donation for the purpose of buying a land for the establishment of the rehabilitation centre for the benefit of the disabled children, youth and Monks in Sri Lanka. The merits earned out of this meritorious act is blessed to be transferred to Mr. Hsu Yuan , members of his family and his Dhamma teachers viz. Most Venerable Master Far – con, Most Venerable Master Seah Din and Most VenerableMaster Ming Ai including their relatives and friends. The Director General Rev. ‘Arogya’ Foundation for the Disabled , express its gratitude for becoming partners of the proposed establishment of shine room dedicated to meditation under the rehabilitation programme for the benefit of the Children, Youth, Adults and Clergy of the differently able community in Sri Lanka. The requirement of the statue of Lord Buddha is to be placed in the shrine room specially reserved for the use as the image for meditation (Buddhanussathi Bhawana) in presence of this statue of the Lord Buddha ).

We, meritoriously thank them and their families for the donation of this invaluable image of Lord Buddha with Brass finish Metal statue Weighing 67 Kgs. 4’.8” in Height and 3’ 3” in Breadth, with a financial involvement of US $ 2,000. Arogya Foundation is ever grateful to the donors for their voluntary response towards this meritorious disable friendly activity. Possibilities are being explored to deposit this statue in the proposed meditation shrine room no sooner the establishment of the proposed Rehabilitation centre become reality. The key note address was delivered by the Director General of the Foundation and the Thero welcomed the presence of all participants with special gratitude to Patrons of the Foundation Most Ven. Udahamulle Saranapala Thero, Most Ven. Thalapathpitiye Pungngnaloka Thero and Most Ven. Yushi Shimada of Japan including Phan Yue Peng, Chjang Wan How (Madam Helan) and Pan Xinyi (Cindy) from Singapore. Explaining the activities of the Foundation the Ven. Unapana Ariyadhamma Thero out lined the two fold future plan: One being the establishment of Rehabilitation centre for water therapy treatment for physically handicapped persons and the other being the establishment of a residential medical care centre for sick Buddhist Monks. He invited Foreign and Local donors to help in this unique causes for the benefit of needy ones. |
